urROUTE — uREADY Edition
Map Your Climb. The careers and progression map for the whole construction sector.
How It Works
Search for a role, or filter by sector and level. Open a role to see what the job is, the credentials you need, and the next steps up or across. Switch to the route map to see the climb as a ladder.
Everything on the map is also shown as plain text and lists, so it works with a keyboard and screen readers.
urROUTE — UNIT8D Edition
For rail, London Underground, highways, civils and utilities, use the UNIT8D Edition on unit8d.com.
urROUTE — uREADY Edition (whole construction sector)
Each rung is a level (1 = entry, 8 = top; our own scale, not a qualification level). Select any role to open it.
Example Climbs
Our view, built from the official schemes and job profiles. Time in a role is a typical estimate, not a guarantee: where no figure is published we show a default of about 3 years, and for apprenticeships we show the stated apprenticeship length. Where we have not confirmed how long a credential lasts, we show "Unknown". Always check the current rules with the scheme owner. Last reviewed October 2026.
